Hello,
I built myself a noise swash pedal in the beginning of this year, and have nothing but love for it. However, at yesterday's rehearsal with the band it started making noises even when in bypass mode. First there was a regular pulse sounding similar to birds chirping (to the amusement of my band mates). The noise would shift in charachter when I tweaked the knobs; still in bypass. The noise isn't very loud, but still loud enough to be clearly heard between songs.

So it's like some self-oscillation noise is leaking into the output even when in bypass. Any suggestions on what to do in order to get the thing to keep quiet when I want it to?

Best,
Henrik

The Tame/Trouble mod was designed to fix this issue. Unfortunately, there's not clear instructions on how to do the mod to the v1.3x PCB (the "mini" swash). There's a few posts about it on this forum if you search for it... but no step-by-step.

A simpler approach is to install a power switch on the swash. So when you have it in bypass in between songs or when you need to kill the background noise completely, just flip the power off.
Just cut the wire that runs from the power jack to the board (not the ground wire, the other one!) and put a switch in. This is basically what the tame/trouble mod does, but it also switches out some capacitors and makes the stomp switch automatically kill power when it's in bypass.
