i build a nocto loco by my own the first time, everything works perfect, only the dual led does not function. i got no idea, i checked everything, the led is ok, maybe someone got any idea to solve this tiny problem.

thanks

how do you know the LED is OK, what did you test it with (supply voltage and value of the current-limiting resistor?)

hi dann,

i put the dual led right there, as it's shown in the pcb pic. between the both 3 pdt switches. when the sane mode is on the led lights up red, when i switch to loco mode the led is off.
when i turn the led around, then the led lights up in green in the sane mode. so, the led is fully function with both colors. my power supply is a 9v power supply unit. where is the current-limiting resistor? is it possible that i got a wrong dual led?
or is it possible to use two leds, if i cant solve this problem?

thanks mäkkes

you might have a wiring problem in the Loco stomp. Or it's possible the problem is in the Bypass stomp

The two 330 ohm resistors above the LED on the board are the current-limiting resistors. I can imagine if the one that goes to +5V (the bottom one) is not connecting well to the circuit, then you would have the symptoms you describe. Also if the wires from the Loco stomp are not well soldered to the board, you will also have that problem.

Power down the unit and use a multimeter to check continuity from the lugs of the Loco stomp to the 330 ohm resistors.

This diagram should show you what is supposed to connect to what:

thanks for your help dann,
i got it! Very Happy
i forgott the ground conection from the 1uF elko, wich goes to the loco stomp and also the connction betwen the top current limiting resistor and the 330 resistor near to the 2n5089 tranny. i made my own perfboard and got a lot of wire connections, so sometimes you loose the overview.
