Hi

i've got all the components soldered up and cables, i'm using s v 2.2 noise swash board. I plugged in a 9v battery and turned all knobs, but still there no sound.

i've test the ics with the battery plugged in. the opamps at ard 3v and the mods ics 4558 are ard 6v. just one 4558 is reading 0v. that means it's fried. I'll replace that. but other than that, there's still no sound.

under 'Tweaking the noise' ; test 1 the points i take red wire battery snap to the 220k gives a reading of 3 volts.

- after some testing...

Dann; you are write to solder over all the parts again. i acidentally touch the points where the diodes and the cap hook up and suddenly there was sound! it sounded really great till my solder melts and the sound is gone. so what could be the problem here? where is the soldering iron causing the sound to appear? oh... i'm so close to finishing this up.. someone please advise me on this.

p.s. included is a pic of my hook up components. i'm not sure what NG trim 5k means. what can i use with this?

dze

Hi again,

I've just tested the 7809 with a battery clip. the reading on my multimeter is at 6 volts. so according to the pdf, it says that if >9volts, the 7809 is dead. is this right? if it's dead why are the leds lit?

any help on this?

What do you mean by this, which pins are at 3V?

Your soldering iron is probably grounding that point, which is causing it to work for a moment. So look around to other joints connected to that area, there is probably a problem in that section...

You need a 5k trim pot. The pedal won't work without this trim pot, so this could be your problem. If you don't have a trim pot just jumper it with a piece of wire. you can jumper all three points of the trim pot together (but one of those pads has nothing connected to it, so it doesnt matter)
